Southwest Antennas has released a new omni-directional antenna for use in the 5.15 - 5.25 GHz ISM band.

Part # 1085-223 features a weatherproof sealed spring with a rotating black chrome Type-N(m) RF connector. The environmentally sealed spring base prevents fouling by rain, dust, dirt, mud, or other debris while allowing the antenna to bend ±45 degrees from vertical and return to its original operating position, helping to prevent damage to mated RF connectors and radios.

The antenna can operate with up to 50 Watts of input RF power, has a peak gain of 6 dBi, and a 24-degree vertical beamwidth.

The 5.15 - 5.25 GHz ISM band can be utilized for the deployment of unlicensed communication networks within this band, allowing for high-data-rate mobile and fixed-site communication between radios. Applications include surveillance systems, unmanned robotics platforms and control systems, and other communication networks for video, voice, and data transmission.
