Broadband (>35%) Microwave Antennas

Broadband Planar Folded Dipole Antenna

The Planar Folded Dipole provides high gain (9 dB or better), wide bandwidth (>35%), and high efficiency (>95%).  Southwest Antennas has refined this canonical structure for all its broadband panel antenna products. These single element linearly polarized antennas deliver an almost equal beamwidth in both azimuth and elevation (60°) with very low sidelobes.

Southwest Antennas designs and manufactures broadband panel antennas from 800 MHz to over 6000 MHz to customer specifications as private-labeled products.  Customers specify radome type, radome color, mounting requirements, connector type, and custom labeling.

A wide range of connector and mounting options are available as stock designs.

1004-003 9 db Broadband Planar Folded Dipole 1700-2500 MHz

1004-005 9 dB Broadband Planar Folder Dipole 3650-5150 MHz

1004-006 9 dB Broadband Planar Folded Dipole with Mounting Bracket 1700-2500 MHz

Broadband Panel Antennas and Antenna Arrays

The excellent broadband match of the Planar Folded Dipole commends it to a wide range of antenna array products.  Individual elements of the array are precisely fed from a precision, low loss, extremely broadband feed network.

1009-001 12 dB Broadband Panel 1700-2500 MHz

Discone Antenna

The Discone Antenna is canonical low-gain structure for those applications where high efficiency and wide bandwidth are essential. It is used where wide bandwidth and omnidirectional performance are needed such as calibration standards, broadband point-to-multipoint communications, and electronics warfare.

1028-001 1.8 dB Discone Antenna 1600-4000 MHz

1028-002 1.8 dB Discone Antenna 2400-6000+ MHz

Conical Omni and Biconical Antenna

The Conical Omni Antenna offers medium gain and a wide bandwidth for special applications.  Southwest Antennas also provides Biconical Omni antennas where the user requires a pattern that is centered to the horizon over its full frequency range.

Horn Antenna

Horn antennas fall into two classes: Standard Gain Horns and Sector Horns.  Southwest Antennas designs and manufactures both types of horn antennas from 2 GHz to over 6 GHz to customer specifications using low-cost mass-production techniques.  The final horn antenna is custom packaged to meet the customer’s radome, mounting, and connector requirements.
